With the start of the winter season 22/23, the resort of Galtür will in future act as head sponsor of cross-country skiing ace Lisa Unterweger and will be present at her races in the cross-country skiing World Cup in the coming season. As part of the cooperation, the ÖSV squad athlete will also appear as Galtür's new cross-country testimonial.
The 27-year-old Styrian has been on cross-country skis since she was four years old and has already celebrated numerous successes. She finished sixth in the team sprint at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing and was also part of the Austrian Olympic squad in Pyeongchang in 2018. Unterweger is a multiple Austrian national champion in sprinting and won gold twice at the European Youth Championships.
She is currently preparing for her first World Cup race in Davos on 17 and 18 December. There she will present Galtür for the first time as her new head sponsor. "I am very grateful that Galtür supports me and at the same time I am happy to be able to represent this well-known and popular cross-country skiing region at my World Cup races," says Unterweger enthusiastically about the new cooperation. Walter Wagner, chairman of the Galtür Tourism Association, also finds fitting words for the cooperation: "We are very pleased to be able to act as the new head sponsor for Lisa Unterweger. Over the last few years she has been able to establish herself firmly in the international cross-country skiing scene and with her enthusiasm for this sport she is virtually a 'perfect match' for our region."
