For 25 years, the Tyrolean Chamber of Commerce has been awarding the research prize for outstanding dissertations as well as diploma and master's theses to students at MCI | The Entrepreneurial School®, the University of Innsbruck and FH Kufstein. The prize is awarded to work that stands out due to its high added value for society, its degree of innovation and its significance for the Tyrol as a business location.
This year, Jonas Lehmann, a graduate of the International Business & Management programme at MCI, won over the jury with his excellent Master's thesis in the category "Economics and Social Sciences".
Lehmann's master's thesis "Mobility as a Service - Requirements from the perspective of potential users" examined the requirements of Generation Y for mobility services in Tyrol. For this purpose, he interviewed potential users as well as providers of mobility services, and it turned out that the requirements of both coincided in some points. For example, both sides attach great importance to the digitalisation of as many processes as possible and the improvement of public transport in general. An app could be the key here: "Each mobility provider usually has its own app for its customers, which is why you often need several apps to use all the offers in a region. However, the survey showed that an app that provides all mobility offers from 'one source' could be a significant relief in this regard," Jonas Lehmann explains.
