The streets of the Brixen Valley are bustling with activity: with the "Kirchberg Kost.Bar & Unplugged", the "Schau-zuichi-Markt" in Westendorf and the "S'Brixner Mittwochsfestl", the region provides a packed calendar of events throughout the summer. In addition to culinary specialities and the best musical entertainment, the festival also offers an insight into the fascination of old crafts.
When regional and musical delicacies meet, it's "Kost.Bar & Unplugged" in Kirchberg. On five evenings from mid-July to mid-August, the village square is transformed into a gourmet market of regional specialities. The feast for the palate is accompanied by a square concert by the Kirchberg music band. The series of events starts on Friday, 15 July. On this evening, from 5 p.m. onwards, local innkeepers will be serving up their specialities, regional delicacies and matching drinks on the village square. It's time to taste, feast and enjoy. From 8.15 p.m. there will also be treats for the ears. The Musikkapelle Kirchberg will play a concert on the square to provide the perfect musical treat. And while the older visitors are tasting their way through the stalls, the younger ones are off into the world of stories. On all five dates at 6 p.m., 6.30 p.m. and 7 p.m. there will be a Punch and Judy show on the village square. The shops of the Kirchberg merchants' association on the village square and in the vicinity of the village square will remain open longer on the respective dates. The dates are 15 and 22 July, and 5, 12 and 19 August.
"Zuichi watching" and enjoying in Westendorf
Every Thursday from 15.30, the past is brought back to life in Westendorf. At the "Schau-zuichi-Markt" visitors can look over the shoulders of experts in old crafts such as turning, weaving, basket weaving and so on. But tradition is also important when it comes to culinary delights. The countless stalls offer oven-fresh bread and cheese and bacon specialities, as well as kiachl like in grandma's time and typical delicacies such as Brixentaler Brodakrapfen or Kartoffel-Schoaten. While the adults stroll through the market alley, the children also have a lot to do at the "Schau-zuichi-Markt". At the children's night there is a bouncy castle park, entertainment with music and dance and free pony rides. The hustle and bustle is framed by live music. Westendorf's merchants will also keep their doors open longer this Thursday. The "Schau-zuichi-Markt" will continue until mid-September.
