Skiing again at last! Or would you prefer snowboarding? Or how about winter hiking? In Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis, snow fans enjoy a fantastic, almost magical lifestyle on and off the slopes with many activities and experiences. The hut keepers, lift operators and snow sports instructors are ready for a great winter season. This year it lasts 18.5 weeks or, to put it another way, 130 days. To be precise, the lifts will be whirring from Thursday, 8 December 2022 to Sunday, 16 April 2023.
A lifestyle that is unparalleledForthose who don't know: More than 20 years ago, the two ski resorts Serfaus and Fiss-Ladis in the upper Tyrolean Inn Valley joined forces and offer 214 kilometres of perfectly groomed slopes in all degrees of difficulty. But not only that. To the left and right of the slopes there is a wide range of active activities, including snowshoe tours, cross-country ski trails, natural toboggan runs and winter hiking trails. By the way, the little guests are not neglected either, because under the slogan "We are family!" the region has long since established itself as a popular family skiing area. Those who want to overlook this fantastic lifestyle of the winter worlds of Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis would do best to take a short break before starting on the Frommes downhill run. Namely on the new viewing platform at the Schönjoch summit cross at 2,509 metres above sea level. It offers a magnificent panoramic view of the surrounding mountains and peaks - on a clear day even as far as the Zugspitze in Germany, the Ortler in South Tyrol and the Tyrolean Wildspitze.
Events in the snowWhoeverthinks that after so much action and a full day in the fresh mountain air, it's already the end of the day in the three mountain villages is mistaken. For many, the fun really starts when dusk falls. Finally, it's time to party a little again, and residents and guests alike are happy about that. One of the event classics is the Adventure Night "Fairy Tale" in Serfaus every Wednesday with spectacular and colourful shows. From 21 December 2022, the breathtaking spectacle with laser show, artists and acrobats who work for Cirque du Soleil, among others, and the impressive ski show of the Serfaus Ski School. At the Nightflow "Rock the Snow" in Fiss, cool dancers, acrobats and daredevil stuntmen rock the fulminant ski jump and the snow sports instructors of the Fiss-Ladis Ski School rock the Nightflow arena. The Nightflow will take place every Tuesday after the premiere on 29 December. If you're into winter magic, visit Magic Ladis. From the premiere on 22 December 2022, a unique mix of cosy winter atmosphere, traditional live entertainment and culinary delights will reign there every Thursday in front of a breathtaking backdrop directly below the mighty Laudeck Castle. The "Fire and Ice" show, a figure skating performance, delights visitors to Magic Ladis with a spectacular light and fire performance, which takes place on 31 January 2023 at the Lader Schlossweiher.Everything also revolves around enjoyment at the new SnowArt enjoyment festival. On the weekends of 9 to 11 and 16 to 18 December, there is no better opportunity to indulge in culinary and musical delights directly on the slopes or in selected mountain restaurants. Regional delicacies such as the Zammer Sonntagshendl or "Fissky Imperial", a Tyrolean single malt whisky, are just waiting to be tasted. By the way, more than 20 live bands and individual artists provide the right rhythm with a variety of sounds from rock, pop, folk music, funk and Schlager. But blues and jazz fans will not be disappointed either, of course. The Leithe Wirt, the Seealm Hög, the Komperdell panorama restaurant, the Lassida restaurant and the Masner ski hut in Serfaus and the Sonnenburg family restaurant, the Möseralm, the BergDiamant panorama restaurant and the Zirbenhütte gourmet restaurant in Fiss-Ladis are all part of the programme.Tip: On the two Saturday evenings you can go night skiing on the mountain. Even then, neither live music nor culinary delicacies are missing.
As already mentioned, winter is just around the corner. It's worthwhile to start getting your skis out of the cellar, waxing them and thinking about planning your winter holiday.
