INNSBRUCK INTERNATIONAL. Biennial of the Arts7-22May 2022 | InnsbruckInnsbruck International, a biennial of contemporary art, celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2022 and runs under the motto "Cookie". This theme is entirely related to the people who, in the course of the pandemic, have created digital twins of themselves in the home office and shared them with others. A special highlight of this year's Biennale is GGGNHM by God's Entertainment. The Guggenheim Museum's light sculpture will be placed on the market square in Innsbruck. Journalism Festival Innsbruck13-15May 2022 | InnsbruckThe three-day "Journalism Festival Innsbruck - International Days of Information" is expected to attract more than 100 contributors from 20 countries from 13 to 15 May 2022. Renowned journalists with scientists, representatives of NGOs and experts from different regions of Europe and the world will discuss current topics. For three days, the city will be an open discussion forum on internationally pressing issues and crisis regions. There will be numerous discussions, book presentations, exhibitions of comics and photo reports, documentary films and audio features. The festival is aimed at an interested public. Music in the Giant19-21May 2022 | Swarovski Crystal Worlds Wattens "Music in the Giant" means the diversity of chamber music: from 19 to 21 May 2022, the festival in Wattens is dedicated to the string quartet in its various forms, pays tribute to the art of song and gives the piano space as a solo and accompanying instrument. Once again, internationally renowned soloists and top-class ensembles from the field of classical music will be on stage: renowned virtuosos such as the pianist Pierre-Laurent Aimard and the Belcea Quartet, young stars such as the baritone Andrè Schuen, the composer and musician Caroline Shaw and the Attacca Quartet from New York as well as the Tyrolean newcomers Quartissimo. Early Music Pop-Up ConcertsFridaysin July & September | Old Town InnsbruckThe Pop-Up Concerts of Early Music show that early music has wonderful compositions and diverse works in its repertoire and is therefore not old or dusty at all. The concert series was created in cooperation between the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tyrol and Innsbruck Tourism and is organised by students of the Master's programme "Sports, Culture & Event Management" as part of a practical project. Changing public places in Innsbruck's old town will be the setting for the free pop-up concerts every Friday at 11 am in July and September. Tiroler Volksschauspiele22. July - 4 September | TelfsThree major productions and a supporting programme entirely dedicated to great legends and strong women from and in Tyrol are presented by the Tyrolean Folk Festival in this year's theatre summer. In the domed arena of the SportZentrum Telfs, the internationally renowned director and Tyrolean-born Susanne Lietzow is staging the theatre spectacle "Monster & Margarete" about Margarete von Tirol-Görz, known as "Maultasch". Another strong woman on stage in the Telfer Kranewitterstadl is taken from the novel "Ich bleibe hier - Resto Qui" by Marco Balzano. Artistic director Christoph Nix was able to secure the world premiere rights of this bestseller for the Tiroler Volksschauspiele. Summer in the Giant22. July - 21 August 2022 | Swarovski Crystal Worlds WattensThis summer, too, it's "It's Showtime!" at the Swarovski Crystal Worlds when the Circus Theatre Roncalli sets up its tents in Wattens. In keeping with the motto of the new chamber of wonders, "The Art of Performance", this year the giant invites acrobats from the Circus Theatre Roncalli to its garden, who will thrill visitors daily from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm in impressive shows with lots of body art.
