Numerous stallholders put their hard work on display at the Dreiländermarkt in Pfunds and the Rieder Herbstmarkt!
After this truly wonderful summer of 2022, we are now in the midst of autumn, which presents itself with crystal-clear views, burning larches and, here and there, peaks covered in high fog. It's a wonderful time of year that invites us to slow down, look back and review the work we've done. This was especially true in the Tyrolean Oberland over the past few weekends, where numerous stallholders displayed their hard work at the popular three-country market in Pfunds and the autumn market in Ried, both organised by TVB Tiroler Oberland | Erlebnisraum Tiroler Oberland.
Natural and processed delicacies, valuable handicrafts, fine jewellery and exhibits represented our region at the 6th Three-Country Market in Pfunds. The market was held in Pfunds-Stuben on 1 October from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and attracted over 1,000 visitors despite a few drops of rain. On this Saturday, there was also a multi-layered supporting programme with culinary delights, music and fun and games with a children's programme. Traditional specialities such as Kiachla and Gerstlsuppe, as well as regional beer, wine, noble brandies and relatively new delicacies were on offer. Bubble waffles" with ice cream and funny toppings sweetened the stroll amid colourful ceramics, herbal salts, sewn goods, woodwork, jams, macramé, incense, loden and a multitude of other specialities. The audience was accompanied musically by Daniel Haselwanter from Mieming.
Bettina Thöni, Managing Director of Erlebnisraum Tiroler Oberland, gave a positive summary: "It is impressive every time to see a project like this growing steadily and being so openly accepted! With over 50 market stalls, mainly regional stalls from the immediate vicinity, but also exhibitors from South Tyrol, Germany, the Zillertal and the Ausserfern were represented and blended together fabulously as a colourful ensemble. The raw materials and knowledge of previous generations have always been valued in our society, yet the awareness of home-produced and regional products is constantly increasing. This was again demonstrated by the lively interest in our Ried autumn market." (This took place on 09 October from 14:00 to 20:00 at Sigmundsried Castle). "We can be proud of being able to organise such a lively event again and again and would like to take this opportunity to thank all those involved who make it possible to put on such valuable events again and again!"
Among other things, the joint efforts of the Ried farmers and the Ried Theatre Association made the autumn market a complete success. In an impressive setting between time-honoured castle walls, all kinds of treasures could be discovered indoors as well as in the open-air castle garden. More than 800 visitors enjoyed cool and hot drinks, a rich cake buffet, the musical entertainment by the "Huangartler" in the covered tent and the evening's entertainment by GÜ Patscheider in the castle bar. First of all, there were about 20 market stalls of different genres. Practical, tasty and beautiful things such as jewellery, juices, creams, hair bands, bags, ornamental specialities for house entrances and living rooms made of local materials were on site.
As a special highlight, the Sigmundsried cultural association guided interested visitors through the exhibition "Der Böse Weg" (The Evil Way), which was well worth seeing.
The TVB Tiroler Oberland | Erlebnisraum Tiroler Oberland is pleased with the perfect course of events, the lively participation and the good cooperation with associations and exhibitors at both events and looks forward to a new edition in 2023.
