The steering group, consisting of representatives of the town of Landeck, the TVB TirolWest, the Leistungsgemeinschaft Landeck-Zams and the Landeck Chamber of Commerce, reacted quickly and consistently with the appointment of a new manager for the marketing of the valley basin.
Florian Schweiger will be the new manager of the valley basin marketing from 16 May. His love for our region has motivated him and his family to move their centre of life to our district for more than four years now. Through a local project in urban and regional development, Mr. Schweiger was quickly able to gain his first professional insights into the region. This awakened an interest in this exciting complex of topics, which led to a desire for additional specialist knowledge and expertise, which is why Florian Schweiger completed the master's degree programme 'Sustainable Regional and Destination Development' at the University of Innsbruck and UMIT Hall in 2019. "After successfully completing the degree at the end of last year, I am now particularly looking forward to applying this knowledge and my previous experience in the role of valley basin manager," Florian Schweiger emphasises.
"We are happy to be able to fill the position again already. Florian Schweiger brings the right ambition for the topic, as he dedicated his master's thesis to urban development in Landeck and is on fire for the subject," says Konrad Geiger, chairman of TVB TirolWest.
For Florian Schweiger there is a clear personal objective. The inner city of Landeck represents a very interesting and valuable space with a lot of potential, which is to be activated by the initiative 'City of Landeck Strategy 2032'. By increasing the existing utilisation possibilities and strengthening the current variety of offers, the aim is to give as many people as possible an occasion to visit a diversified town, whereby the resulting offer should also explicitly address the population of the valleys of the district and tourists, and Landeck should thereby live up to its status as a regional centre. In order to achieve this objective, it is necessary, on the one hand, to develop and implement new projects as impulses - for example for areas of the city that are currently little used - and, on the other hand, to coordinate and network existing structures and actors in order to generate new synergies from them. In this way, the path of continuous and substantial improvement of the city will be taken, through which the city will fill with life and new content.
"In addition, all interested persons are invited to get involved and actively participate in the future shaping of the city, so that together an attractive living space and an increased quality of life will be created," appeals Florian Schweiger.
"Together we have succeeded in making a very good replacement for the marketing of the valley basin. With Florian Schweiger we have an ambitious valley basin developer who is just as enthusiastic about our region as we are," Mayor Herbert Mayer is pleased to say.
"With Florian Schweiger, we were able to win over a specialist who knows our valley basin very well. In addition, Mr. Schweiger brings with him all the knowledge for urban development that we need for the various fields of action for a city and basin development," Michael Gitterle, chairman of the Landeck Chamber of Commerce, is convinced.
