Autumn skiing starts on the Pitztal Glacier on 1 October. The mountain lifts will be in operation daily from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. in October.
St. Leonhard, 29 September 2022: Skiing begins on the Pitztal Glacier on 1 October. The Gletscherexpress and the Wildspitzbahn open daily at 7:00 am. At 9:00 a.m. the Gletscherseebahn and the Mittelbergbahn go into operation. Five different slopes with a total length of 6 km are available to skiers and snowboarders daily until 16:00.
Café 3440 at DACH TIROLS offers culinary delicacies from Austria's highest confectionery daily from 9.30 am to 3.30 pm.
The official start to the 2022/23 winter season is marked by the Pitztal Glacier Open from 28 to 30 October with a wide-ranging supporting programme: on this weekend you can try out skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing and ski touring on the Pitztal Glacier and test the latest equipment from leading sports brands free of charge. In addition, there is a course in avalanche awareness. On Saturday, 29 October, Chris Steger will give a concert at the Kristall glacier restaurant. On Sunday, 30 October, anyone who wants to improve their freestyle skills can get free coaching from former ÖSV athlete Lisi Gram. Afterwards, there will be a jam session with a contest.
