Der perfekte Ultra-Lauf in der Outdoorregion Imst: Mit der zweiten Auflage des Tschirgant Sky Run am 11. Juni 2022

Updated 25.05.2022

After a successful premiere in 2021, the Outdoor Region Imst is ready for the 2nd Tschirgant Sky Run on 11 June. The organisation team and its partners have prepared everything for this year's trail run highlight. They expect around 400 participants again.

"We are very happy that the weather is cooperating so well this year. The snow conditions are already at the same level as in June, so we can run the original route this year, which was not possible last year. In addition, we have much more relief from the authorities in terms of organisation, which is due to the largely normalised pandemic situation. All this promises optimal conditions," says Lukas Kocher, head of organisation.

For all mountain sports enthusiasts and pleasure trail runners, the Tschirgant Sky Run is an event of a special kind in an alpine region that offers more than the purely sporting experience for every running enthusiast: unspoilt nature, breathtaking views in a unique mountain landscape, the feeling of storming the summit, and running in a warm, family atmosphere - in a grown trail run community on site with the TrailMotion association.

"For the event, quality is important to me, not quantity. We have made everything very familiar, even with homemade cakes. For us, the cohesion of the trail runner family plays a big role, the enthusiasm for the race in a sociable setting," is the concept of initiator Lukas Kocher.

"The trail runners are only this close to the sky at the Tschirgant-Sky-Run, THE trail running event 2022. Even at the premiere in June 2021 under very difficult conditions, the team around organiser Lukas Kocher found sensational routes over the panoramic mountain Tschirgant. This year again, a top-class starting field will not miss this unbelievable feeling of running along the Tschirgant ridge. Imst Tourismus warmly welcomes all mountain-addicted athletes to Trailrunners Paradise, says the managing director of the main sponsor Imst Tourismus Mag. (FH) Thomas Köhle.

The new trail run event offers participants four routes with lengths between 16 and 52 kilometres and varying degrees of difficulty. What unites them all: the fantastic view of the surrounding mountain landscape. The Tschirgant (2,370 metres) rises like a long ridge between the Inn Valley and the Gurgl Valley. At its western foot lies Imst, the starting point for the Tschirgant Sky Run.

The second edition will once again feature exceptional scenic trail runs, a treat for beginners, amateur runners and challenging trails for professionals running at world level. For those who opt for the longest variant, the Ultrarun (TS52) with a length of 52 kilometres and 3,500 metres of altitude gain, must not only have a lot of stamina, but also surefootedness. More than 11 kilometres of the route alone run over the ridge or back of the Tschirgant - a unique experience with fantastic panoramic views of the valleys and mountains. The TS26 variant (26 kilometres, 1,900 metres in altitude) also goes through alpine terrain. Runners on the 42- and 16-kilometre routes can expect easier terrain.
