Das Schneeschuh-Testival in der Silberregion Karwendel

Updated on 20.12.2022

On Sunday, 11 February 2023, the Schiestlhof in the municipality of Weerberg will be the meeting place for winter sports fans for the second time. Away from the piste, far away from the hustle and bustle of skiing, snowshoe newcomers, experienced hiking guides and numerous exhibitors will meet up to discuss all aspects of snowshoe hiking. The Testival is suitable for all those who are curious about the sport and want to try their first steps on the wide discs. There is also plenty of news for experienced snowshoe hikers who want to keep up to date with snowshoe hiking.

A snowshoe hike in the Silberregion Karwendel has always been a great way to relax. High up, but not out of the world, you can escape the stress of everyday life and enjoy the peace and quiet. Step by step, accompanied by the muffled crunch of powder snow, you enter a landscape full of mysteries and uniqueness. 20 snowshoe tours and 2 guided snowshoe hikes per week (Monday and Friday - registration by the day before on +43.5242.63240) characterise the Silberregion Karwendel as a true snowshoe region in Tyrol.

The snowshoe models from Koch alpin are available for hire free of charge on the day of the Snowshoe Festival. A wide range of snowshoe models from the TUBBS and Atlas brands for adults, teenagers and children guarantee a perfect fit and maximum comfort. Trained hiking guides accompany the participants of the Snowshoe Festival every hour from 09:00 to 15:00 on guided snowshoe hikes and are on hand with tips and tricks. With Harry Prünster, well-known from radio and television, a particularly funny snowshoe tour is offered. The mascot KARWENDOLIN also marches with the children through the terrain on the Weerberg.

Accurate shooting and fast running are the key to the biathlon. The cross-country skis are replaced with snowshoes, but the fun of the exercise is certainly not neglected. At the snowshoe biathlon in the Karwendel Silver Region, you can also win a prize that is true to the theme. A pair of snowshoes plus poles from TOP snowshoe manufacturer TUBBS will be raffled off among all participants at the end of the day. The faster you complete the course, the better your chances of winning!

White deep snow slopes and unsecured terrain not only attract ski tourers, but also snowshoe hikers. However, safety on the mountain is the be-all and end-all in alpine sports and to minimise the risks, mountain rescue professionals will be on hand during the test festival. The Schiestlhof catering service will take care of your physical well-being, while DJ Roseo will provide the warm-up and party feeling.
