From 2 July, the Stubai Glacier promises numerous highlights, with the focus on the TOP OF TYROL summit platform. This can not only be experienced as the highlight of a hike, but will also be the setting for a yoga session.
With its immediate proximity to Innsbruck, the Stubai Glacier is not only the ideal destination for a holiday, but is also ideally suited for short trips and day trips. Here, excursion and holiday guests will find everything their hearts desire, even in summer: impressive nature, adventurous outdoor experiences as well as a wide range of activities for children and families. At an altitude of over 3,000 metres, in addition to an impressive glacier panorama, many unforgettable nature experiences and numerous event highlights await young and old.
The TOP OF TYROL summit platform is without doubt one of the highlights of the Stubai Glacier. At over 3,000 metres, it not only offers an overwhelming view over the Stubai Alps to the Dolomites, but also the opportunity to take a deep breath and find peace. Therefore, it is also the ideal place for a very special event, which will take place on 17 July: The Glacier Yoga offersall those interested a workshop in a real energy place. Here, the peace and power of the imposing mountain world flows into the yoga exercises and makes them a unique experience.
The summit platform is also the highlight of many other excursions and activities on the Stubai Glacier. For example, after a tour on one of the numerous hiking routes, active people will not only find an unforgettable panoramic view here thanks to the impressive glacier world, but also pure relaxation.
Summer on the Stubai Glacier has many facets and far more to offer than a wide variety of hiking and climbing experiences. The fact that the Stubai Glacier is a paradise for families is demonstrated by the Mammut high-altitude playground. Here, children can look forward to a six-metre high wooden mammoth in which they can climb, slide and play. Another attraction for the youngest guests is the ice rally in the ice cave with many exciting riddles. But adults also get an insight into the fascinating world of the glacier in the ice grotto. On the almost 200-metre-long tour, visitors experience glacier phenomena up close and learn interesting facts about the eternal ice. The summer at the Stubai Glacier also offers exciting events for the whole family: As part of the BIG Family Week, a colourful programme with face painting for children, a piste machine as a photo station and a magic show will take place on 21 July. In addition, the ORF Radio Tirol Summer Freshness on 9 August promises an eventful day where everything revolves around the topic of ice and glaciers. The youngest visitors can playfully discover the world of glaciers on a special guided tour for children. Another highlight for the whole family is the sunset cruise on 12 August. Here, participants can enjoy special moments at dusk with a BBQ on the terrace of the Eisgrat restaurant.
