Ab Herbst 2022: MCI startet kombiniertes Master- & Doktoratsprogramm mit International University Monaco

Quality, innovation & internationality: These basic principles of the MCI are the inspiration for a study programme of the Entrepreneurial University® starting in autumn 2022. In cooperation with the renowned International University of Monaco (IUM), students enrolled simultaneously at both universities will be able to acquire two academic degrees:

  • an MSc Master of Science in Business Research Methods from the MCI
  • a DBA Doctor of Business Administration from the IUM.

The part-time research-oriented programme, which is offered in English throughout, is aimed at international executives, managers and experts from different disciplines, countries and sectors. The internationally unique double degree option offers the advantage of earning a master's and doctoral degree within 36 months of successfully completing the programme.

Thus, the Master of Science (MSc) is awarded at the MCI after successful completion of the second year of study. The integrative interlinking with the doctoral programme of the IUM, with the creditability of the study, research and examination achievements at the MCI, makes it possible to obtain a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) after successfully completing the study, research and examination achievements at the IUM.

The MCI's Business Research Methods Master's programme prepares students specifically for the DBA programme at IUM. The focus is on a high-quality scientific examination of research approaches, methods, principles and logics and their integrative linkage with a research question related to one's own professional environment.

The Doctor of Business Administration programme at IUM is a doctoral programme for managers and decision-makers and experts from various disciplines who are interested in applied business research, want to develop their personal research skills and make a valuable contribution to current research practice in business & management sciences.

The international double degree programme is based on an innovative blended teaching approach that includes on-campus face-to-face seminars and examinations, online courses, coaching sessions, individual supervision of research papers and participation in international conferences.

Both universities carry the prestigious, global AACSB accreditation as confirmation of the highest academic quality. The study modules of the double degree programme are conducted at the attractive locations of Innsbruck, Monaco, Geneva and London.

Dr. Maria Kreuzer, academic director of the MCI Master's programme, explains: "Exploring and analysing a complex management problem from an academic perspective enables individuals in the profession to develop intellectually, personally and professionally."

"The Double Degree programme is offered in an innovative, part-time study format with six intensive face-to-face weeks in four attractive European locations. Online courses, coaching sessions and personal supervision of research papers guarantee a high degree of flexibility and relevance ", adds Mag. Susanne E. Herzog, Head of Executive Education at MCI.

MCI Rector Prof. Dr. Andreas Altmann is delighted: "The MSc DBA Double Degree Programme is another step in the development of our Entrepreneurial School®. We look forward to accompanying students from all over the world on their academic learning journey."

Dr. Jean Philippe Muller, Director General of the International University of Monaco emphasises: "The Double Degree Programme offered jointly by IUM and MCI is the ideal choice for experienced experts from business and non-profit organisations who are seeking a high postgraduate qualification without putting their career on hold. The programme offers them the opportunity to study a practical problem in depth and to transfer the acquired knowledge directly into their working lives."

Dr. Hans Mühlbacher, retired Univ. Prof., University of Innsbruck and Prof. emeritus, International University of Monaco, is delighted: "It is simply great to see how two excellent universities - the International University of Monaco and the MCI | The Entrepreneurial School® - both of which mean a lot to me personally, are joining forces.
