The Alpbachtal Tourism Association organised an extraordinary expedition through the mountains with the 24-hour hike.
Inneralpbach - 70 hikers took it upon themselves to be on their feet for a day and a night. Together they overcame fatigue, 3000 metres in altitude and 42 kilometres on the 24-hour hike through the Alpbachtal. The start and finish was at 9am in Inneralpbach. From there, the route led to the highest point, the Wiedersbergerhorn at 2,127 metres. Accompanied by experienced mountain and hiking guides, the route went over the Loderstein and the Reither Kogel to the Holzalm, where you could stretch your tired legs with a hot soup around midnight. The balmy summer air made the hike bearable during the night hours, but the tiredness had to be overcome before sunrise on the Gratlspitz.
It was a leisurely and relaxed hike. Hikers recharged their batteries during the numerous short breaks at the refreshment stations. The hike was a tough one, but all participants made it to the finish in good shape and were overjoyed to have mastered this challenge together. The 24-hour hike takes place in Alpbachtal every year in July. The next date will be announced here: https://www.alpbachtal.at/24hwanderung/de
