Rebekka Ruetz, das Zillertal und die Schönheit des Lebens

Updated 09.09.2021

The Tyrolean designer's connection with the "valley of countless possibilities" has once again resulted in a collection "inspired by Zillertal". At the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Berlin on 8 September, the new Spring/Summer collection 2022 "reALTERation" by the fashion label of the same name rebekka ruétz was presented. The Zillertal plays a major role here, which is always an inspiration for Ruetz.

A collection with strong images of the Zillertal attracts a lot of attention

With extravagant creations, rebekka ruétz creates a feeling of "life is beautiful" - an experience that is particularly common in the Zillertal. The new line is based on the special features of the Zillertal culture and landscape. The result is a warm and sunny mood in the fabric prints, which reflect the pictorial and lively impressions of the popular holiday region in a playful way. And it was precisely this aesthetic highlight that caused a sensation. Beate Kassner (Managing Director of Zillertal Tourism), Michael Ankermüller ("Blog.Bohème") and Felix Hanke (Executive Assistant Manager at StoryMachine GmbH), among others, could not miss the impressive show. Also on site was the Spanish painter Anton Unai, who, like Rebekka Ruetz, found the inspiration for his works in the Zillertal. The artist always likes to come back to the Zillertal and spends several months there to create new works. "I love the spirituality of the mountains, the fire of nature, the silence. And also the extremes," says Unai.

"reALTERation" - The perfect combination

What the guests got to see was an exciting mix of materials, for which rebekka ruétz has been known for years. "reALTERation" stands for joie de vivre, human optimism and playful creativity. Rebekka Ruetz got the idea for it in the Zillertal, where a unique mix of enjoyment and nature delights visitors. The picturesque natural landscape inspired the designer to wrap a part of her Tyrolean homeland in her collection. "The summery colours of this alpine natural world inspired me to immortalise the Zillertal in my collections. For me, the clothes exude joie de vivre - just like the Zillertal," says Ruetz

A whole "treasure chest of alpine natural jewels" serves as motifs, combining fascinating images of an imposing mountain world, tranquil forests and a luminous sky. The colours range from the snowy white of the Hintertux glacier to the warm earth tones of beech tree bark to the vibrant yellow and brilliant sky blue of a carefree summer day in the "valley of countless possibilities". The combination of A and X silhouettes and box shapes underlines the joyful attitude to life.

Continuation of a successful cooperation

Rebekka Ruetz and Zillertal Tourismus GmbH already worked together in the past. The designer processed their former advertising tarpaulins into garments and accessories in a sustainable manner. The cooperation resulted in the "placID" and "reSET" collections, for example. Beate Kassner, Managing Director of Zillertal Tourism, is also enthusiastic: "I'm delighted that we're participating in Berlin for the third time. The Fashion Week creates a perfect connection between the urban lifestyle and the inspiring nature of the Zillertal. This is impressively shown to advantage by Rebekka Ruetz's designs. Through the collection, the Zillertal is thus represented in the best possible way." "reALTERation" offers enticing incentives to experience the "heart of Austria" for yourself and realise: "You only feel that here."

About the Zillertal

Valley of three-thousand-metre peaks, eternal ice, culinary highlights and music. You are welcomed with warmth and typical Tyrolean charm in each of the 25 Zillertal communities. In total, the wide and sunny valley has over 35,000 inhabitants and stretches over 47 kilometres. The highest point in the Zillertal is the Hochfeiler at 3,509 metres above sea level. The valley takes its name from the 56-kilometre-long Ziller River, whose source bubbles up at 2,270 metres above sea level in the municipality of Brandberg. It flows from south to north and flows into the Inn near Strass at 517 metres above sea level. You won't find any large hotel chains in the Zillertal - most of the hotels are family-run. The unique mix of enjoyment and nature has always been a source of enthusiasm - investments are constantly being made in comfort and the perfect infrastructure. In summer and winter, countless offers attract visitors to the mountain paths, the pistes or the golf course. Opportunities abound in the Zillertal like needles in a pine forest. The next holiday in the "valley of countless possibilities" can come!
