Ischgl opens the ski season on 25 November 2021. The highlight of the winter season kick-off will be two powerful-voiced acts with Il Volo and Alice at the "Top of the Mountain Opening Concert" on 27 November. The 2G rule applies to concert attendance. Comprehensive protection concepts ensure the greatest possible safety for guests, staff and locals beyond the opening.
With an elegant winter opening, Ischgl sets the course for a high-quality skiing experience in one of Europe's top ski resorts. As early as 25 November, skiing in the Silvretta Arena opens with over 239 kilometres of cross-border pistes from Ischgl to Samnaun. The day ski pass is also the ticket to the concert and costs 65 euros per person on the day of the event. With a valid ski pass for two days or more, admission to the concert is included.
Visitors to the Winter Opening can even look forward to two powerful-voiced acts this year with the internationally celebrated Operatic pop trio Il Volo and the Italian pop singer Alice. The two-part live concert starts at 6 p.m. and takes place directly in Ischgl in front of a breathtaking mountain backdrop at night. The 2G rule applies to all concert-goers aged 12 and over - children under 12 must present a valid Covid test. "In the coming winter season, we want to do our utmost to make our contribution as responsible hosts through comprehensive health and safety standards. The aim is and remains to be one of the safest destinations in the Alpine region for our guests," clarifies Alexander von der Thannen, chairman of the Paznaun - Ischgl Tourist Association.
With safety into the winter season
Those responsible at Silvrettaseilbahn AG have spared no effort to ensure a safe winter season in 2021/2022 and have invested around 700,000 euros in hygiene measures. "We have installed new "intelligent" camera systems at the three feeder lifts in Ischgl, which optimise waiting times in the queuing areas by means of density measurements and mobility analyses," explain Günther Zangerl and Markus Walser, the directors of Silvrettaseilbahn AG. The waiting times shortened in this way are displayed in real time on the smartphone. All cable car cabins are disinfected using cold fogging equipment to eliminate 99.99 per cent of viruses, bacteria and spores in the cable car cabins. The same method is also used daily in the ski buses as well as in sports shops, ski depots, WC facilities, lift cabins and the first aid stations. Paznaun was also one of the first regions to introduce wastewater monitoring in order to be able to identify possible cluster formations in advance. With this comprehensive safety package as well as strict control and compliance with the legal framework conditions, guests should be able to enjoy a maximally safe and relaxed holiday experience. Currently, we are still waiting for the official regulation for the nationwide rules for this year's winter skiing season. However, it can be assumed that the 3G rule (tested, vaccinated or recovered) will apply to skiing operations and that FFP2 masks will be compulsory at least for cable car cabins and in closed queuing areas (e.g. in the ticket hall).
