The countdown to the biggest winter sports test in the Alps from 11-14.11.2021 is on.
Perfectly prepared slopes, the sun on your face and lots of new trends and winter sports novelties can be experienced at the INTERSPORT SNOW DAYS at the STUBAIER GLETSCHER at 2,900 metres above sea level. From 11 to 14 November 2021, the largest winter sports test in the Alps offers exciting winter sports products to try out as well as a varied supporting programme.
For the new winter season 2021/22, INTERSPORT, the Stubai Glacier and the Stubai Tyrol Tourism Association are jointly organising the INTERSPORT SNOW DAYS at the STUBAIER GLETSCHER. INTERSPORT Germany stands, as a strong partner of the event and Dein Winter. Your sport. Premium supporter, for 65 years of sports competence. The Stubai Glacier, Austria's largest glacier ski area, is the ideal place to put the new winter sports products through their paces. With a colourful supporting programme, expert discussions and presentations by the manufacturers, visitors will be offered informative panels on all aspects of winter sports, with a focus on alpine skiing and snowboarding.
The focus here will be on sports. With a great variety, the INTERSPORT SCHNEETAGE prove the importance of winter sports for the entire industry. With currently 30 brands and equipment suppliers represented on site, there are exciting new products from renowned manufacturers to try out, especially in the areas of alpine skiing and snowboarding. Equipment testing, trial courses, guided tours and offers in the area of safety are at the centre of the event with the message "Finally skiing again". Whether one, two or the full three to four days of glacier experience - a varied range of topics and lots of good humour promise a successful event.
In the course of the INTERSPORT SNOW DAYS at the STUBAIER GLETSCHER, visitors can not only look forward to the latest winter sports products, but also to many exciting side events.
BIWAK CAMP powered by MOUNTAIN HARDWEAR
All those who have always wanted to spend a night at an altitude of 3,200 metres should not miss the BIWAK CAMP from Saturday 13 to Sunday 14 November. On the first day, the participants learn the most important rules for behaviour on the glacier in an avalanche transceiver course. Then, together with the two mountain guides, they will drive to the Schaufeljoch mountain station and set up camp for the night. This is spent in pairs in a tent and ends the next morning with a spectacular sunrise and breakfast in the Eisgrat restaurant.
Early Bird Ski Tour powered by K2 and SCOTT
On Saturday, 13.11. from 8 a.m., participants of the Early Bird Ski Tour have the opportunity to test the latest products from the ski touring collections of the two brands K2 and SCOTT on the still untouched slopes of the Stubai Glacier. At the beginning, mountain guides explain the most important basics on the topics of ski touring and safety on the mountain, after which the groups start from the middle station to the event area of the INTERSPORT SNOW DAYS. Afterwards there is the possibility to get valuable tips from the experts of K2 and SCOTT while enjoying a hot drink.
Avalanche training on the practice avalanche
On Friday, 12.11. and Saturday, 13.11. from 10:00 to 11:30 and 13:30 to 15:00, participants will practice the correct procedure of an avalanche rescue as well as the use of safety equipment together with mountain guides from The Freeride Center and will receive valuable practical tips.
Sunrise Yoga
On Friday, 12.11. at 7.30 a.m., yoga fans and interested people of all levels can take part in a yoga session at an altitude of almost 3,000 metres - of course with a view of the Stubai Glacier including the sunrise panorama. The trained yoga teacher and mountain hiking guide Bianca Auer leads through a varied mix of meditation, flow, strengthening, stretching and relaxation.
Ride With
On selected days, Burton riders Leon Vockensperger (Saturday, 13.11. and Sunday, 14.11., each from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m.) and Seppl Ramsbacher (from Thursday, 11.11. to Sunday, 14.11., each from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.) as well as former ski racer Felix Neureuther will be on site at the INTERSPORT SCHNEETAGEN.
