With a varied entertainment programme, the Stubaital presents itself in autumn, from 06 September to 10 October, as colourful and diverse as the season itself.
In the autumnal Stubaital, nature not only presents itself in its dazzlingly colourful hues, but also provides an occasion to hike it extensively, witness the traditions, enjoy the culinary delights and listen to the music. All these opportunities arise during the time of the Stubai Autumn Highlights. For five weeks, from 6 September to 10 October 2021, the Stubai Autumn Highlights offer the opportunity to do so and include a colourful entertainment programme where a new facet of the valley can be discovered every day. Guided hikes, traditional alpine pasture drives and the enjoyment of Stubai delicacies in the valley and on the alpine pastures with live music are guaranteed to provide good entertainment.
When the temperatures slowly drop, the days become shorter and the leaves change colour, you get to know the Stubaital from its diverse side, even at this time of year. You are immersed in a world where tradition, regional music and local cuisine are in the foreground. The backdrop for this is the breathtaking mountain world all around, which is an Eldorado for extended pleasure hikes in mild autumn temperatures. In the course of the Stubai Autumn Highlights , locals and guests can look forward to a month that offers a variety of cultural, sporting, musical and culinary activities every day.
The alpine pasture drives in the Stubai Valley
When the animals and their herdsmen return safely from the alpine pastures to the villages, there is a celebration. This tradition is also held in high esteem in the Stubaital. The popular alpine pasture drives are one of the highlights of the alpine autumn for locals and guests alike. Which is why they are also on the programme of the Stubai Autumn Highlights several times. On 11 September, magnificently decorated cows enter Fulpmes at the Almabtrieb with farmers' market and live music. On the same day, the sheep drive takes place in Volderau in Neustift. One week later, on 18 September, the return of the animals is celebrated with an alpine festival in Telfes. Finally, the last alpine pasture drive of the year can beenjoyed on 25 September at the Bröllerhof in the Neustift district of Milders .
Immerse yourself in the autumnal mountain world with sporting excursions
The weekly guided hikes offered free of charge by the Stubai mountain and hiking guides are active and informative. From6 to 10 September, the unique WildeWasserWeg is the focus of the tours during the WildeWasser Active Week. On the following dates, the hiking trail networks of the four Stubai mountain railways will be explored intensively and idyllically situated alpine pastures, huts and some of the Stubai mountain lakes will be visited. For ambitious visitors, there is the opportunity to take part in guided tours to the Seven Summits Stubai. There is something for every taste and fitness level. Amusical arc across the entire Stubai Valley
Good entertainment depends on the right music and there is plenty of it at the Stubai Autumn Highlights. Once again, different musical tastes and genres are catered for. The brass bands of the five Stubai villages invite you to square concerts, classical concerts take place in the Neustift parish church and young Schuhplattler show their skills at Tyrolean evenings.
On 26 September, several huts and alpine pastures in the entire Stubaital take part in Klang und G'Sang auf den Almen and let the mountain world resound. But also in the two weeks before, several live performances take place at the mountain stations of the Stubai mountain railways. On Wednesdays, musicians of traditional folk music entertain at the mountain station of the Elferbahnen in Neustift. At the mountain station Kreuzjoch of the Schlick 2000 in Fulpmes, "Stocki & friends" always provide the best atmosphere on Thursdays. The "G'Spiel und G'Sang" series takes you from alpine pasture to alpine pasture every Sunday in the Serlesbahnen area in Mieders and live music with glacier delicacies is served every Monday at the Gamsgarten on the Stubai Glacier.
Culinary highlights
The Stubai Autumn Highlights do not neglect the physical well-being. Tasty Stubai delicacies are offered at almost every event.
