Although 15 August is a public holiday every year, this year the mountain bikers are celebrating it in a special way: After last year's cancellation due to the pandemic, the Kitzsport sports club, which is organising the event, is once again inviting people to a trial of strength on the Hahnenkamm.
One cycling event after the next
After the successful staging of the Horn Cycle Race on 31 July, the organisers of the SV Kitzsport are now looking forward with anticipation to the opposite mountain peak: when the Hahnenkamm crows again on 15 August - "Up on the saddle, into the pedals!". Although this year there will be no presentation lap through the centre of Kitzbühel, the start will still be in the middle of town - through the Jochberger Tor via the Hahnenkammstraße with a start clearance after the railway crossing. And nothing changes in the 9 kilometres and 940 metres of altitude. The finish line is once again the top station of the Walde lift. The only new feature this year is that the award ceremony will also take place there in the open-air area.
Registrations for hobby and licensed athletes are already open
If you want to pedal off, you can still register at www.kitzsport.at until Wednesday, 11 August. Attention: no late registrations possible!
The 3-G rule will be checked at the start number distribution at the Sparkasse Kitzbühel. Spectators and carers are allowed in compliance with the current Covid-19 regulations. SV Kitzsport is looking forward to a spectacular race!
