The Stoabergmarsch24, the 24-hour hike in the Leoganger and Loferer Steinberge mountains between Tyrol and Salzburg Land, has become one of the classic long-distance hiking events. On 4 September, 51 kilometres with 4200 metres of altitude difference await the participants once again.
Stoabergmarsch24 - the name says it all: On the 24-hour hikebetween Tyrol and Salzburger Land, hikers discover, experience and conquer the fantastic mountain paths through the Leoganger and Loferer Steinberge mountains. On 4 September it's that time again. On the 51 kilometres, participants can look forward to impressive natural scenery, fantastic views from the mountain peaks and a varied programme. 4.this year, 200 metres of altitude have to be mastered and stamina is required, as the experienced alpine guide Markus Kogler reports: ""Of course, during the 24 hours you sometimes reach your limits, but after a rest on the summit with a wonderful panorama or a musical serenade, the world looks different again
It is this special combination of experiencing nature, exploring one's own limits and the sense of community that makes the Stoabergmarsch24 so appealing. So it is not surprising that the number of participants, under the expert guidance of local hiking professionals, has grown steadily and is therefore limited to 150 people. Whether young or experienced, local or guest, hikers of all kinds come together during the 24 hours. "Of course, 51 kilometres and over 4,200 metres in altitude are a challenge, but well manageable for a skilled mountain walker. However, you should be sure-footed and free from vertigo," says mountain guide Markus Kogler, who guarantees safe execution with his team from the Fun Connection and has prepared a new, exciting route through the Steinberge mountains again this year. The route leads from the biathlon stronghold of Hochfilzen to Lofer, where the finish awaits at Loderbichl in the Loferer Almenwelt
Sustainability and nature conservation are important to the participating tourism associations PillerseeTal, Saalfelden-Leogang and Salzburger Salachtal, which is why the Staobergmarsch24 is run as a so-called "Green Event". The seal of quality of the province of Salzburg requires numerous measures. The measures in terms of sustainability range from the possibility to travel by public transport, the use of reusable dishes instead of plastic or disposable articles to the predominant use of regional products and the avoidance of waste
