The pandemic has not only changed workplace learning in the short term. The future is digital. But how do forms of teaching, further education and work in companies continue to develop in order to remain successful in the digital age?
Experts explored this question during the virtual conference at MCI on the topic of "Digital Learning - New Forms of Learning and Working".65 participants from HR development in German-speaking countries took advantage of the opportunity to be inspired by experts from practice and science and to exchange ideas in a network.
Building blocks for successful learning in the company
"New jobs require a new mindset for a lifelong journey," explains Luis Pinto, Director of Business Development EMEA, at Udemy Government. As the world's largest online learning marketplace, Udemy publishes an annual skills report that analyses skills gaps for future labour markets.
According to Luis Pinto, in order to remain successful in a dynamic environment in the future, companies need to make continuous learning within organisations, as well as online learning opportunities, a fundamental part of the way they operate. It is important to note that multitasking can become a stumbling block and that learning must take place in small bites on a continuous basis in order to increase the transfer of learning, explains Christian Schernthaner, Head of Learning and Development at Duftner Digital. At the same time, one should not lose sight of informal learning contexts in the company, says Maria Pammer, Head of Studies at the MCI, in the conference.
Properly guided, the digital learning journey in eLearning can inspire the creation of integrated learning experiences that lead to better education, smarter organisations and a lifelong learning mindset.
Claudia Mössenlechner, Head of the Department of Learning Solutions at MCI emphasises: "Webinars alone are not the panacea. We have to integrate individual learning units into learning paths that make sense. At the end of such a path there is always change. Then we know that we have learned something".
