The Unternehmerische Hochschule® is pleased about a special academic achievement: Dr. techn. Lukas Möltner recently completed his habilitation at the Vienna University of Technology with the research topic "Combustion Engines and Automotive Technology" in the field of mechanical engineering. The habilitation is the authorisation to teach at a university (Venia Docendi); it is considered the highest academic achievement by international standards.
Private lecturer Dipl.-Ing. Dr. techn. habil. Lukas Möltner is characterised by an extraordinary and consistent career. He originally embarked on a career as a craftsman, from apprentice to master mechanic. He then completed a diploma in process and environmental engineering at the MCI, followed by a doctorate in mechanical engineering at the Vienna University of Technology. At the same time, he earned a diploma in the field of sustainable energy systems. The preliminary highlight of his scientific career was his habilitation at the Vienna University of Technology. His habilitation thesis on combustion engines and automotive engineering covers three main areas: the use of renewable fuels, the engine utilisation of biogas and exhaust gas aftertreatment. His scientific work is also attracting attention elsewhere: for example, he was recently awarded the prize of the provincial capital of Innsbruck.
Since 2009 as a lecturer at the MCI and since 2011 Head of Department for Process Engineering in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management as well as Head of the Research Area Engine Technology and Emissions, Lukas Möltner has earned an excellent reputation among students and colleagues. This is also confirmed by numerous teaching assignments at other colleges and universities.
Lukas Möltner is regarded by colleagues and students as an extremely qualified and committed researcher who combines theoretical and practical knowledge of automotive engineering in a particularly exciting way in his teaching. MCI Rector Andreas Altmann and Michael Kraxner, Head of Research & Development, offer their unanimous congratulations: "Lukas Möltner has literally qualified for the highest scientific orders in his field from scratch. On behalf of the entire MCI team, we extend our warmest congratulations."
