The Family Business Day at the MCI is a format that actively brings together science and practice, discusses current challenges and deals with relevant issues relating to family businesses. The event is aimed at family entrepreneurs and their relatives who hold key positions in family businesses, as well as entrepreneurs and future entrepreneurs who are considering handing over or taking over a family business. Science meets business is the motto. The aim is to jointly realise synergies for the benefit of the location. Participation for family entrepreneurs is free of charge.
The first forum will focus on the handover and succession process, a particularly challenging topic for family businesses. The exciting and varied programme offers scientifically sound input as well as a broad portfolio of expert knowledge on strategic and legal issues, financing, recruiting and personnel development and much more. In a panel discussion, successful entrepreneurs from different sectors will share their experiences with the participants. Finally, a best practice example will show how a family business can be led to become an internationally successful billion-dollar company. All programme details can be found .
MCI Rector Andreas Altmann invites all family entrepreneurs to the new event: "As an Entrepreneurial University®, it is a particular concern of ours to bring business and science together. We are aware of the special challenges in family business and are pleased to be able to provide concrete benefits for entrepreneurs with our know-how."
Anita Zehrer, head of the MCI's "Centre for Family Business", refers to the MCI's research focus on family business: "We regularly work together with entrepreneurs and companies to identify particularly pressing problems and then work on these within the framework of research projects. At the moment, the focus is on the entire issue of business succession. We can help entrepreneurs here with absolutely practice-relevant research results and support them in leading their companies into a successful future."
