Another international success can be reported at Management Center Innsbruck (MCI). After signing a double degree agreement with the University of Genoa, one of the oldest and most renowned universities in Italy, selected MCI students now have the opportunity to obtain a degree from both universities.
Students of the Master's degree programme in Environmental, Process & Energy Engineering at MCI can enjoy this "double degree" and, in addition to the academic degree of "Master of Science" (MSc) at MCI, they can also obtain a "Laurea Magistrale" degree from the University of Genoa.
This is made possible by a curriculum developed jointly by the two universities, which combines the specialisations of energy engineering and chemical engineering under the title "European Master in Engineering for Energy and Environmental Sustainability". In contrast to the classic 4-semester Master's programme, the English-language double degree programme provides for five semesters.
Students spend the first two semesters at MCI, the third and fourth semesters at the Savona Technical Campus of the University of Genoa. For the fifth semester, students can choose the place of study themselves. The students not only benefit from the cooperation in terms of content, but also significantly strengthen their linguistic and intercultural skills.
Founded in 1471, the Universitá degli Studi di Genova is one of the oldest large European universities and one of the top universities in Italy. Located in the heart of the city, which is home to the medieval and baroque heritage of Europe's largest and most productive port, students are also offered numerous cultural opportunities.
Prof. Marco Fossa, coordinator of the MSc in Energy Engineering at the Universitá degli Studi di Genova: "We are delighted to have found a partner in the MCI that equips our students perfectly to compete in the international job market. The double degree programme offers exciting opportunities and a great perspective for students from both universities."
Prof. Marco Rupprich, Ph.D., Head of the MCI Department of Environmental, Process & Energy Engineering: "The cooperation with the Universitá degli Studi di Genova, which is one of the most renowned universities in Italy, offers our students unique opportunities for further development and international career opportunities."
