MCI-Rektor Altmann erfreut über höheres Wissenschaftsbudget

The Unternehmerische Hochschule® in Innsbruck is delighted about the clear commitment of the federal government to the further development of the science and higher education sector.

With the figures for the 2018-2019 double budget announced in yesterday's budget speech by Finance Minister Hartwig Löger - which provides a total of 41 million additional euros for the UAS sector - it is possible to plan and design for the future. Not only are the 7.8 million euros required for 2019 secured in order to prevent the briefly discussed cut in funding for university places. With an additional 25 million euros, 450 new study places can be created in future-oriented disciplines. "Our fields of study and research services are in urgent demand. They ensure innovation, internationality and competitiveness of Austria as a business location," says MCI Rector Andreas Altmann.

In addition to the university of applied sciences sector, the universities will receive considerable additional funding as well as efficient framework conditions. "Science Minister Heinz Faßmann has kept his word. The science budget adopted yesterday is a clear signal for the future, strengthens the Austrian higher education area in international competition and creates points of contact for exciting cooperations," concludes Rector Andreas Altmann.
