U-Multirank
U-Multirank is characterised by its multidimensional approach and measures various quality criteria of a university: in addition to comprehensive information on the participating universities, the evaluation of publication and patent databases as well as the collection of statistical data, 100,000 students were also invited to evaluate the quality of teaching at their universities.Launched in 2008 on the initiative of the European Commission, the international university ranking U-Multirank now analyses more than 1,600 universities from 95 countries worldwide with more than 12,500 study programmes.
In contrast to conventional university rankings, in which only 2 to 3 % of universities appear, U-Multirank also focuses on smaller and specialised universities. Users of U-Multirank are students, researchers, decision-makers in universities as well as business and employers. The ranking makes it possible to compare different universities in up to 20 disciplines.Voices: Tibor Navracsics, European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport, emphasises the importance of U-Multirank as a basis for decision-making: "U-Multirank gives students, parents and other stakeholders a valuable insight into the higher education institutions of their choice, across a range of parameters.Brigitte Auer, Head of MCI Quality Management, is pleased: "Excellent teaching, international orientation and networking as well as innovation and know-how transfer are among the MCI's most important success factors. The fact that we have once again succeeded in achieving such good results in these disciplines in the U-Multirank confirms our continuous quality efforts. "MCI Rector Andreas Altmann adds: "The excellent results are both an incentive and a mandate for us to further develop our entire portfolio. We are proud to be able to make a valuable contribution as a university to the development of the science and business location."
