Digital Business MBA from autumn

Sensational news to report from the MCI: The Entrepreneurial College® will offer two new Executive Master's programmes in cooperation with investment punk Gerald Hörhan starting in autumn 2018. The new degree programs are designed for committed professionals who want to take on a leading role in the new economy. More than 200 enquiries have already been received for a total of 60 study places.

The Digital Business MBA and Master of Science Digital Economy & Leadership programmes are designed to provide participants with the skills needed in the modern digital workplace and to build digital businesses that few people currently have. Therefore, the programmes include modules on topics such as online marketing, data science, machine learning, blockchain technology, IT security, data management and data protection, venture capital and corporate entrepreneurship.

While the "Digital Business MBA" focuses on the development and management of digital business models, is partly taught in English and has a distinct international orientation, the "Digital Economy & Leadership MSc" focuses more on leadership, leadership psychology and digital transformation. This German-language degree programme is designed to be reflexive and illuminates the internal view of organisations.

The innovative degree programmes provide for a high proportion of online/mobile learning and can be completed without having to quit your job or reduce to part-time. Synchronous and asynchronous e-learning elements as well as compact attendance phases are linked in an innovative way (blended learning) and ensure maximum spatial and temporal flexibility. The majority of the study programme is conducted online, with a combination of video courses, online teaching materials and online live chats or online discussions based on the MCI blended learning concept. In addition, there are two to three face-to-face events per semester from Thursday to Saturday for networking, lectures and group challenges. These attendance phases are planned in Innsbruck, Vienna, Frankfurt, Munich and Berlin.

MCI Rector Andreas Altmann explains: "Digitalisation is not only dramatically changing the economy and people, it is also changing the higher education landscape. The MCI is taking on a pioneering role here together with Gerald Hörhan."

"Our mission is to bring economic and digital knowledge to as many people as possible so that they can be successful and live in financial freedom. Being able to offer academic degrees to our customers has been a big goal of mine and one that we have pursued with great commitment. I am pleased that with MCI Management Center Innsbruck we have an innovative university as a partner with whom we can also offer digital education in an academic setting," adds Gerald Hörhan, founder and CEO of Investment Punk Academy.

Together, Gerald Hörhan and Andreas Altmann put it in a nutshell: "Everyone is talking about digitalisation. We - the Investment Punk Academy and the MCI - are already educating."

Investment Punk Academy

The Investment Punk Academy, the leading German-language online financial education platform, is designed for people who want to develop and make a difference. With online courses, seminars, lectures and a forum, people are supported in their careers, whether it's building their own business or investing their money efficiently.

MCI's digitalisation offensive

The MCI launched an exemplary digitalisation offensive a few years ago. As of autumn 2018, a total of eight (!) online study programmes will be available, three of which are in the continuing education sector. The proportion of online students will increase from the current 8 % to 20 % over the next three years.
