"After the season is before the season", as the saying goes. After the "most successful season", as Head Coach Shuan Fatah of the SWARCO RAIDERS Tirol likes to call it, the team is determinedly looking ahead; no one can, must or wants to rest on their laurels. So it's no wonder that the SWARCO RAIDERS are already in full swing with their preparations for the coming year.
The first (re)-commitment has been signed: David Oku has his contract for the 2019 season in the bag and will thus be able to continue his successful work as running back coach. David Oku joined the SWARCO RAIDERS Tirol as a player back in 2015. Innsbruck was his first stop outside the USA and after that year in Tirol, where he was mainly used in international games, he also completed stints in China and in Germany in the GFL. in 2018, Shuan Fatah brought him back to the Inn where David Oku is clearly comfortable.
In the past season, in which the SWARCO RAIDERS Tirol won all the titles they were aiming for (CEFL, Superfinal and AFL), David Oku was successful both as a coach and as a player. With the signing of this contract, he can continue his cooperation with Sandro Platzgummer, Tobias Bonatti & Co.
The recent signing of David Oku was made possible by the MCI Management Center Innsbruck as a strong partner of the SWARCO RAIDERS Tirol. David not only qualified for the Master's programme in International Business & Law, which starts in autumn 2018, but also for one of the coveted scholarships.
"I feel very comfortable in Tyrol and am happy that I can combine my studies with American football. The cooperation between the SWARCO RAIDERS Tirol and the MCI Management Center Innsbruck offers me the ideal conditions to combine both," says David Oku, looking forward to the upcoming challenges.
