24. Alpenländischer Volksmusikwettbewerb 2022
Every two years, this year for the 24th time, more than 700 young musicians and singers from four countries - Austria, Bavaria, South Tyrol and Eastern Switzerland - meet in Innsbruck to present their skills at the largest competition for traditional folk music, the "Alpenländische Volksmusikwettbewerb/Herma Haselsteiner-Preis".
Innsbruck once again becomes the centre of Alpine folk music and attracts thousands of guests from near and far on these days.
Numerous musicians' meetings, a large folk dance evening, music and singing in the city centre, folk music breakfasts in Innsbruck inns, an international sheet music, traditional costume and instrument sales exhibition, the festive folk music festival evening with the awarding of the coveted Herma Haselsteiner prizes and the festive radio closing service on Sunday in Innsbruck Cathedral invite visitors to Innsbruck for this unique weekend.
