"Passionate grillers, grill in winter too!", thought the organisers of the Ski & BBQ event at the Schlick 2000 ski centre in Fulpmes. They were confirmed by the well-known German barbecue team "GutGlut". Exactly the same association of barbecue professionals who will now also be barbecuing on 12 March 2023 at the Panorama Restaurant Kreuzjoch at over 2,000 m above sea level. Combined with wonderfully prepared slopes, skiing for pleasure takes on a whole new meaning and, together with an entertaining supporting programme, not only BBQ lovers will get their money's worth on this day.
If you've always wanted to have delicious barbecue in the snow, you shouldn't miss SKI & BBQ on Sunday, 12 March 2023 in the Schlick 2000 ski area. The successful German barbecue team "GutGlut" will serve the best from the grill and the smoker directly at the Panorama Restaurant Kreuzjoch at over 2,000 m above sea level.
The team members will prepare three extraordinary grill creations at two grill stations. The simultaneous operation of several kettle grills, a gas grill and a smoker will not be the only challenge. After all, in addition to the cooler temperature, the altitude of over 2,000 metres and the associated lower oxygen content of the air, which influences the cooking process, must also be taken into account.
"We have already barbecued in many different places in the world, in a ski resort, but never at 2,000 metres above sea level. This will be a premiere," admits Michael Hoffmann, the team leader of "GutGlut".
The beef, lamb and fish dishes will be served from 11 am. The tasting portions will be handed out directly at the barbecue station upon presentation of vouchers purchased while stocks last. Musical entertainment on site will be provided by "Miss Lucy & the nice guys".
For almost 20 years now, team boss Michael Hoffmann has been barbecuing together with his hobby cooks from the "GutGlut" team, and very successfully at that. Although none of them is a trained chef or restaurateur, they are six-time German barbecue champions, vice barbecue world champions and barbecue champions of the world. Michael Hoffmann is also a multiple-time German Grill & BBQ King.
