All doors are open to this door, one might say. Currently, the gnarled wooden door is the star on social media. As a popular stopover for a selfie, it is generating clicks and likes among ski guests. Because it stands at 1900 metres in the middle of the Ski Juwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau ski area. Yet it was a product of chance.
Its builder, Peter Bletzacher, is all the more pleased with its sudden fame. The cable car employee found the door in the building yard and thought long and hard about what purpose the discarded wooden door could still serve. Thanks to his creativity and inventiveness, it now stands in the middle of the ski area. When you open the door, you have a breathtaking view of the Galtenberg (2424m), the highest mountain in the Alpbachtal. I like it, you might say.
About the Ski Juwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau
The ski area is celebrating its anniversary season this year. 10 years ago, the connecting cable car was built, which today links the two areas of Alpbachtal and Wildschönau. With 113 kilometres of pistes and 45 lifts, the ski area is one of the largest in Tyrol. In the anniversary year there was a lot of investment: among other things, a new chairlift was built and a new landmark, the 13-metre high "Top of Alpbachtal" observation tower, was opened.
