Pitztal mit stärkstem Tourismusjahr der letzten 15 Jahre

With over 1.07 million overnight stays, TVB Pitztal recorded significant growth in the past tourism year 22/23 and can look back on the most successful tourism year in 15 years.

After a strong winter season with an increase of 2.71% in arrivals and +1.21% in overnight stays compared to the last pre-corona season 18/19, Pitztal also closed the summer with an increase of 2.36% in arrivals and +1.61% in overnight stays compared to the previous record summer 2022. Overall, this is the best result in over 15 years. The last time similar tourism figures were recorded was in 2007/08. "We are delighted with this result and also see it as a mandate for future developments. It shows that Pitztal tourism is on the right track. The consistent work of the last few years has paid off. However, we also know that bold decisions need to be made now for the development of tourism in the future," summarises Chairman Rainer Schultes, who has headed the TVB for three terms in office.

The TVB is setting the course for this: Modernisation, digitalisation and renewal of the organisation, increasing the impact of marketing and active involvement in the infrastructure sector are just some of the aspects that are guiding the new path. "We are constantly evolving as a TVB. This is the only way we can respond to the challenges of our fast-moving times in the best possible way. We see ourselves as a comprehensive service provider for our member companies, but also as an effective marketing organisation. We have now also become an important infrastructure player in the region and are also working on new fields of activity such as employer branding," says Deputy Chairman Othmar Walser.

"The great result also goes hand in hand with the extensive changes we have made this year. Operational restructuring has increased our efficiency. The renewal of our booking programme and the digital infrastructure with independent production are two important digitalisation steps, which will be followed by the relaunch of the website in 2024. New communication and event formats will also facilitate contact with the TVB. The change in the marketing mix towards digital is having a positive impact. New tourism-related fields of action are leading to specific service products such as the Pitz Member Card, which has been available to all Pitztal employees since the summer," explains Managing Director Philipp Stöfelz in detail.
