Now the world's most successful anatomy show is coming to the Tyrolean capital for the first time. From 9 June 2023, plastinator Dr Gunther von Hagens and curator Dr Angelina Whalley will present their latest exhibition "KÖRPERWELTEN - Am Puls der Zeit" at BALE in Innsbruck. Tickets are available in advance from 14 April 2023.
In "BODY WORLDS - On the Pulse of Time", exhibition organiser Dr Angelina Whalley shows the human body in many facets and illustrates its vulnerability but also its potential in the face of the challenges it faces in the 21st century. "The exhibition is intended to invite guests to critically question the constant sensory overload of modern life and its long-term effects on body and mind," says the curator, describing the idea behind the exhibition. "I would like to encourage visitors to become aware of their responsibility for their own health In addition to explanations on nutrition, exercise or strengthening the immune system, she shows in the exhibition how a healthy and long life can be achieved in today's world.
KÖRPERWELTEN is an exhibition that permanently changes the way we look at ourselves and our way of life. More than 53 million people around the globe have already embarked on this journey of self-discovery through the human body. The fascinating real human exhibits, including many whole-body plastinates, provide comprehensive insights into the complex structure of our inner life and explain in an easy-to-understand way how the body systems and organs function and interact, but also common diseases.
The plastinates shown in the exhibition come from the body donation programme of the Institute for Plastination in Heidelberg, where more than 20,000 donors are now registered.
