Whether in hiking boots, in the saddle or on a rope: in summer 2023, families, mountain enthusiasts, nature lovers and pleasure holidaymakers can once again look forward to numerous new offers and attractions. These include Austria's first indoor bike park, long-distance hiking on the Glocknerkrone and virtual draft horses. An overview of the new highlights in Tyrol:

The Glocknerkrone: New long-distance hiking trail in East TyrolOnsix stages, the Glocknerkrone, the new long-distance hiking trail in East Tyrol, leads along the most impressive peaks of the Glockner south side. On 65.6 kilometres and 3,737 metres of ascent, hikers come into close contact with the mountain farming landscape and the Hohe Tauern National Park with its untouched peaks. The tour, classified as moderately difficult, starts in Matrei in East Tyrol and leads in six stages to Kals am Großglockner. Overnight stays are in the jewels of the Kals huts, such as the Sudetendeutsche Hütte, the Kalser Tauernhaus or the Lucknerhütte.

Tiroler Silberpfad: New long-distance hiking trail in the Karwendel Silver RegionAs acircular tour, the Tiroler Silberpfad leads "once around the Inntal". All twelve communities of the Karwendel Silver Region are hiked. The starting point is the Jenbach railway station, from where it is five days of medium altitude hiking through the Karwendel Mountains and the Tux Pre-Alps. The easy to moderately difficult long-distance hike is particularly entertaining thanks to the many sights along the way. The historical background of the region runs through the entire route. Some stages are also suitable for families. Hikers cover around 3,360 metres of ascent on the 86-kilometre tour. There are plenty of places to stop for refreshments and overnight stays.

Top of Alpbachtal: New viewing platform with 360° panoramic viewTherenowned Norwegian architectural firm Snøhetta, based in Innsbruck, is responsible for the new viewing platform in Alpbachtal: "Top of Alpbachtal" is a 13-metre-high viewing tower at the top station of the Hornbahn 2000 cable car. With a large panoramic window inside and a 360° viewing platform, visitors can look forward to a unique panoramic view. In keeping with the tradition of the Alpbach Valley, the tower is made of wood and clad with handmade shingles. The interior is based on an architecturally reinterpreted Tyrolean parlour. Interested people can visit the new viewing platform in summer 2023 on guided tours or on individual hikes.

Place it Token: Playful Visitor Guidance in the AlpbachtalTheAlpbachtal will be a pilot region for a new project for digital visitor guidance in summer 2023. With an application from the Bonn-based company "placeit", the behaviour and movement of guests can be controlled by means of gamification. Guests playfully collect so-called tokens. To get started, all they have to do is scan a QR code with their smartphone and the digital scavenger hunt begins. A digital parallel world is not created, however, but rather the information provided enriches the real world: while guests walk from station to station, for example, they are shown on their smartphone which sights or gastronomic offers are nearby.

60th anniversary: Kaisergebirge Nature Reserve & Kaiserlift KufsteinThe Kaisergebirge has been a nature reservesince1963, and this year the popular hiking area between Zahmer and Wilder Kaiser celebrates its 60th anniversary. Hikers, families and passionate mountaineers appreciate the untouched nature, which can be easily reached with the Kaiserlift Kufstein. The start of the summer season on 29 April 2023 also marks the start of the anniversary year. Visitors can expect smaller workshops and lectures about the Kaisergebirge throughout the summer. The focus is on raising awareness and educating people about the nature reserve.

BergWaldWeg Penken: scenic hike in MayrhofenThenew BergWaldWeg on the Penken leads 4.7 kilometresfrom thePenkenbahn mountain station to the middle station of the Finkenberger Almbahnen. Along the approximately 1.5-hour hike, hikers enjoy the idyllic landscape and unique views of the Ahorn mountain opposite and the Stilluptal valley. If you would like to extend the tour a little, take the Finkenberger Almbahn up to the Penkenjoch and take the PanoramaRundWeg Penken back to the Penken Kombibahn. From there it's back to the starting point. Alternatively, the bus takes hikers from the valley station of the Finkenberger Almbahn back to Mayrhofen.

Bergwelt Hahnenkamm: New, barrier-free offer in the Reutte Nature Park regionFromspring 2023, the tourist offer in the Reutte Nature Park region will be one facet richer. Then the circular trail on the dam crest of the new mountain lake will be accessible without barriers, as will the Alpine Rose Garden below the mountain station. Thanks to new paths, visitors will also be able to access the revitalised Alpine Rose Garden with wheelchairs or prams. Following the extension of the Alpine Rose Trail from Höfener to Lechaschauer Alm, Bergwelt Hahnenkamm is thus implementing further steps in its barrier-free overall concept.

Bike enthusiasts can look forward to year-round biking fun for all levels, regardless of the weather. With its various lines and AREAs, the bike park in the Ötztal blends in perfectly with the 3,700 m² hall. In the front area, an asphalted pump track including a kids' pump track awaits you on 1,000 m². The jump line behind it promises action-packed jumps with two roll-ins (from medium to expert) including a landing bag, while a 140-metre-long dirt flow line with two lines of easy to medium difficulty invites you to cruise. In the Skills AREA, various features made of natural materials such as a root carpet, rock gardens, practice drops and hairpin turns help you to develop your own skills.

Bike Area Fieberbrunn: New single trail & new shaped lineBikerswill get a new single trail and a completely new shaped Hänsn Line in the Easy Park Obingleitn in summer 2023. The new single trail (1 kilometre long, medium difficulty / red / S2) complements the flowing Schweinestberg trail and offers advanced bikers even more challenges. Start at the "Schweinestberg Trail" gate just below the Streuböden middle station in Fieberbrunn; after a few metres the new trail then branches off to the right into the forest.

Bike Republic Sölden: New practice courseWith thestart of the summer season from 9 to 11 June 2023, the new practice course at the end of the "Schtirggar Line" green trail will also be put into operation in the Bike Republic Sölden. Bikers will have six curves and various wooden jumps at their disposal.

Kitzbühel Alps: New Bike Route from the KRAFTalm to the RigiBikerscan enjoy the magnificent view of Kelchsau and the mountains of the Kitzbühel Alps on the new Bike Route 268 from the KRAFTalm at the Salvistabahn middle station to the Alpengasthof Rigi. Due to the gradient, the MTB route is classified as difficult / black. However, those who have left the effort behind and made the ascent are rewarded with a great refreshment stop.

Sonnenrast Trails: New Bike Infrastructure Project in the Kitzbühel AlpsTherecently formed Bike ARGE in the Kitzbühel Alps focuses on the expansion of the bike infrastructure in the region. The first of these will be the Sonnenrast trails in the Kitzbüheler Alpen - Brixental region at the Sonnenrastbahn from summer 2023. Three new trails for less experienced bikers and children will be created, and bike transport with the mountain railway will also be possible. From now on, the bike area will be expanded with new attractions every year.

Tiroler Zugspitz Arena: New FlowTrailThe new Marienberg Trail in Biberwier in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena startsdirectlybelow the Sunnalm on the Marienberg. With a length of 3.6 kilometres and a difficulty level of blue (S1), the new flow trail offers fun and action even for less experienced trail bikers. The ascent is via MTB route no. 835 or comfortably with the Marienberg cable cars. The Marienberg trail first starts along the ski slope, then leads along a short section of forest road to the "Mure", where the trail finally meanders flowingly through the forest and is peppered with obstacles. The trail ends at the middle station and leads directly into the "Fun Trail".

Outdoor Escape Adventure: Multimedia treasure hunt in the ZillertalAnew, interactive adventure attracts children, teenagers and families to the Spieljoch in the Zillertal in summer 2023: In the Outdoor Escape Adventure "The abandoned mine", puzzle lovers embark on an exciting search for the mysterious legacy of Grandpa Mauritsch. Equipped with a map and the corresponding radio play, players compete via mobile phone app for the inheritance of Grandpa Mauritsch. The app, which was programmed by the Innsbruck-based gamification producer Locandy, accompanies adventurers on their mission from the mountain station via the reservoirs to the middle station of the Spieljochbahn. Those who manage to crack the solution word can exchange it for a surprise gift at the Kohleralm-Hof.

GOASBerg Riddle Tour: New Attractions in the Brixen ValleyEightriddle stations on the GOASBerg Riddle Tour in the Brixen Valley in the Kitzbühel Alps provide interesting and interesting facts about the local nature. Those who crack the secret code word can look forward to a cool wooden medal with a dinosaur engraving.

Timok's Wild World: New explorer-checker trail in FieberbrunnSciencefreaks take note: Timoks Wilde Welt, the family & leisure park in the PillerseeTal, is getting a new attraction in summer 2023. Timok's Explorer Checker Trail is being built between the Streuböden middle station and the Wildalpgatterl. At six interactive stations, Timok playfully reveals flora and fauna news about the alpine region and its small, exciting secrets. At each station there is a riddle to solve. Those who answer all the questions correctly and know the solution word receive a small reward at the cash desk.

Leutascher Geisterklamm: Redesign of the popular excursion destination in the Seefeld regionThe Leutascher Geisterklamm is one of the most popular excursion destinations in the Seefeld region - Tyrol's high plateau. The gorge will be extensively renovated and redesigned by summer 2023. Visitors can then look forward to a family-friendly themed trail concept with its own storyline, great interactive stations and the legendary inhabitants of the gorge.

Reutte Nature Park Region: New inclined lift "Top Liner" in the Ehrenberg Castle WorldThe Ehrenberg Castle World in the Reutte Nature Park Region countsfourfortresses. In summer 2023, it will have one more attraction: the new inclined lift "Top Liner ... up to the top" will open to take guests comfortably to the highest ruin at an altitude of around 1,250 metres. This connects the top station of the existing "Ehrenberg Liner" with the Schlosskopf. Hall in Tirol: Virtual experience tour through the historic old townThose whowant to follow in the footsteps of the historic old town of Hall in Tirol can now do so in summer 2023 with the help of a newly developed digital tour of the town. Under the guidance of the Locandy app, ten interactive stations and sights of Hall's old town await visitors. In addition to general city history, humorous anecdotes about the history of the city will not be neglected. The composer and musician Herbert Pixner, who now lives in the region, provides the musical framework for the city tour. His songs accompany the exciting stops.

Alpenbad Leutasch: New Sauna LandscapeThe Alpenbad Leutasch is entering the 2023 summer season with a completely renovated wellness concept.
