What's more, a holiday in the mountains is much more relaxing than a normal beach holiday thanks to the exercise at different altitudes, and has a lasting positive effect on body and mind afterwards.Running to the first rays of sunshineTheZillertal offers various options for trail runners. Fantastic trail running routes such as the Hippach Trail or the Brandberg Trail enchant with fantastic viewpoints and easy to challenging sections through forests, alpine meadows and along mountain streams. Experience pure nature in the Run & Walk Park: a first-class highlight for all endurance and adventure enthusiasts. And the 30-kilometre trail along the Ziller invites you to enjoy endurance runs on flat terrain. Also new from September is the Krölli Trail in the Mayrhofen-Hippach region, which mountain running champion Markus Kröll received as a gift for his 50th birthday.conquering the first metres of altitude togetherAswe all know, it's easier to do sport as a team, which is why many enthusiastic runners will once again be taking part in the three major running events in the Zillertal this year. The Schlegeis3000 Vertical & Skyrace & Trailrun on 22 and 23 July will be a hot event. The starting point is the picturesque Schlegeis reservoir at 1,800 metres above sea level. In this breathtaking setting, the sport becomes a personal highlight for every trail runner, whether amateur runner or competitive athlete. The Schlegeis Vertical is held as a separate discipline at the Schlegeis3000. Uphill specialists will also get their money's worth on a 4.9 km route with 1,100 metres of climbing. The 17 km long trail run route at the Schlegeis3000 is a top-class speed trail. On the most beautiful panoramic high-altitude trails in the Zillertal, athletes conquer 1,200 metres of altitude here. The supreme discipline is the Schlegeis3000 Skyrace. This leads over high alpine terrain and a technically challenging 34 km and 2,400 m of altitude, including part of the Peter Habeler circuit via the Riepenkopf and the Olpererhütte to the Friesenbergscharte and the Petersköpfl.20 August is another day for running enthusiasts to get up early! The 54th Zillertal Ibex March and Ibex Run in Ginzling starts at 5am. Equipped with headlamps, the participants set off from the Nature Park House towards the Tristenbachalm, where after an initially easy ascent, the first challenge soon awaits: the ascent to the Mörchnerscharte at 2,870 metres. Via Roßkar, the Berlinerhütte, the Grawandhütte and the Klausenalm, the participants then reach the finish line in Breitlahner.three weeks later, the furthest running highlight of the year awaits in the Zillertal. At the Mayrhofen Ultraks on 9 and 10 September, trail runners can compete against each other on various routes. The run along the 100 km long distance Z101 starts on Friday evening. On technically challenging terrain, a total of 8,800 metres in altitude have to be conquered, with the highest point of the route being the Schönbichler Horn at 3,123 metres. On Saturday, the starting signal for the TUX070 route is given at 5 a.m., starting from the Hintertux Glacier cable car car park, over the Tuxerjoch and to the Rastkogel. This is also where the RK50 route leads, which also guarantees breathtaking views. The most popular route of the Mayrhofen Ultraks is the MUZ30 over the Penkenjoch. For those who prefer it short and crisp, there is the MUZ14 from Mayrhofen towards Stilluppklamm. And for all beginners, there is also the 7km sprint round from Mayrhofen towards Brandberg, where a short uphill is followed by a varied downhill.sporting variety in the ZillertalTheZillertal isrightlyknown as a valley of countless possibilities. A variety of single trails, bike tracks, downhill routes and even practice trails are available, while perfect granite offers the best conditions for climbing and bouldering. Rafting combines sporting activity, team spirit and the experience of nature. Thundering waterfalls, eroded rocks, crystal-clear water and natural whirlpools await adventure-seekers when canyoning. With the Blue Lagoon, the Zillertal is even home to the most beautiful canyoning tour in the whole of Tyrol. To see the breathtaking Zillertal from above, there are some of the most marvellous paragliding take-off sites in the Alps, where summer and winter activities can also be combined on hot days. Skiing in the morning on Austria's only year-round ski area, the Hintertux Glacier. And in the afternoon, perfect your swing on one of the European Leading Golf Courts, the Zillertal golf course in Uderns.Culinary delights, on the mountain and in the valleyNotonly on the mountain but also in the gourmet restaurants in the valley, the young Zillertal gastronomy has set itself the task of reinterpreting the tradition of the Zillertal and presenting it in a contemporary way.
