Between December 2022 and March 2023, art enthusiasts in the Kitzbühel region can look forward to the exhibition of sculptures by Munich-born painter, draughtsman and sculptor Stefan Szczesny.
A dream comes true
The German artist Stefan Szczesny has a close connection with the Tyrolean Gamsstadt, as he spent his childhood in Kitzbühel. This gave him the vision early on to present his sculptures in front of the beautiful backdrop of the town and in the snow. In order to fulfil this dream, Szczesny made truly unique pieces by incorporating skis as well as a chamois in red into his works of art. Paintings and sculptures are already on display in several places in and around Kitzbühel. For example, paintings by the artist can be found in the hotels of the Harisch Group and a sculpture will also be found at the mountain railway in the future.
Stefan Szczesny has become known in the course of his life through various projects. For example, he is considered a co-founder of the "Neue Wilden" (New Wild Ones) in the 1980s, through which he participated in worldwide exhibitions in connection with them. Furthermore, at the request of the WWF, he made a "World Map of Life" from ceramic murals, which he was allowed to present at the World Exhibition 2000 in Hanover. Since last year, the artist has been devoting himself to another extraordinary project entitled "#Art4GlobalGoals". With the support of UNESCO, Szczesny created 17 unique works that address the sustainable development goals of the world community and the United Nations.
