A summit photo together with the grandparents. Is that possible with over 50 three-thousand metre peaks in the Pitztal? But of course it is. Especially on the Hochzeiger, young and old can see the world from above. Here you don't have to be equipped with a climbing harness and crampons to achieve a summit victory. Those who want to take it easy even need only 15 minutes.
The Hochzeiger ski region has not been voted the best family ski area several times for no reason. In summer, too, the region knows how to impress with its pine forests and impressive mountain panorama. The summit victory for families takes place at the Sechszeiger summit cross at 2,370 metres above sea level. Motivation, fitness and a snack in the rucksack are decisive factors in how grandchildren and grandparents and everyone in between experience the happiness of the summit.
Either the family starts their hike directly from the valley station or chooses the gondola to the middle station as the first ascent. The hike then leads up a path towards Sechszeiger. If you also want to shorten this ascent a little, the double chairlift will take you almost to the finish. Here you should not miss the view down into the Inn valley to the Hohe Munde in Telfs.
Afterwards, the trail leads comfortably with a slight incline past the reservoir to the Sechszeiger summit cross. Here you can enjoy a fabulous panorama that will hopefully inspire a successful entry in the summit book. The descent is via the same path back to the valley.
If young and old adventure fans are still looking for that certain adrenaline kick, they will find it on the descent with the ZirbenCarts. On the 3.7-kilometre route down to the middle station, almost 1000 metres of altitude difference are overcome. If that's not enough fun for you, you can switch to your bike and whizz down into the valley on the ZirbenBike Family Trail. The trail offers beginners as well as experienced downhill fans a lot of downhill fun.
