In September and October, the region on the western edge of the Kitzbühel Alps attracts visitors with exclusive events and offers.
It's getting colourful - not only in nature, which is now shining in the most beautiful colours in the Hohe Salve holiday region. During the "Kitzbüheler Alpen Herbstmomente" (Kitzbühel Alps Autumn Moments) from 21 September to 26 October, guests and locals will experience unique holiday days with first-class events and tours even after the main season.
Dreamy autumn hikesThelast rays of sunshine are best enjoyed on30 September directly from the Kleine Salve. The guided sunset hike in Itter takes you to the Alpengasthof Rigi, where brass bands accompany the sunset with music.
On the KAT Walk - the long-distance hiking trail across the Kitzbühel Alps - sporty enthusiasts and connoisseurs get their money's worth. Along the way of the guided tours, the Tyrolean KochArt establishments offer culinary highlights and spoil the palate with delicious dishes from the region.
Biking and cycling in autumnThetemperatures are getting a little cooler and are thus perfect for long bike tours or sporty downhill runs. Playing, handicrafts and lots of fun at the family day on the Hohe SalveThefamily day on 9 October on the Hohe Salve and Kleine Salve is all about the kids. From 10:00 a.m. there is a colourful programme: handicrafts, baking, alpaca hikes, games, a circus - even Ice Queen Elsa and a magician will be there. In between, the little ones romp around on the climbing playground "Salvis Kraxxl Platzl", afterwards the hut hosts spoil the guests with regional delicacies. On this day, the day ticket for the mountain railways in Hopfgarten and Itter is half-price.
