The Alpbachtal Tirol cycling club invites you to a spectacular mountain time trial. True to the motto "Don't let me stop you", amateur athletes and professional cyclists will take to the starting line on Sunday 4 July.
Reith im Alpbachtal - On Sunday, 4 July, the starting signal for the second edition of the Reither Kogel Trophy will be given at 9:30 am. The heroes and heroines of the mountain road will set off from the village centre in Reith im Alpbachtal. The finish line is the Nisslhof at 1,211 metres above sea level at the mountain station of the Reitherkogel cable car. There are six challenging kilometres and 550 metres of altitude to overcome. Although basically everyone who completes the course is a winner, the best of the best will be determined in various categories. This year, for the first time, there will also be a team and club classification. Great prizes await the winners.
In addition to well-trained amateur athletes, there will also be professional cyclists at the start this year. For example, Marco Schrettl from Münster and the Belgian mega-talent Cijan Uijtedebroeks from the Auto Eder team will take on the mountain course. Auto Eder is the official junior team of the UCI World Team Bora-hansgrohe. With Florian Lipowitz and Felix Engelhardt, the Tirol KTM Cycling Team brings two outstanding professionals to the start. Felix Engelhardt was the winner of the red jersey at this year's Tour of the Alps. Team Vorarlberg is also sending riders into the race. The former luge world champion and double Olympic champion Andreas Linger will unceremoniously switch from the sled to the bike and also take part in this challenging mountain time trial.
The race will be broadcast live by K 19 TV. Ex-professional cyclist and local hero Thomas Rohregger has been won over as the presenter for this spectacle. You can also follow the broadcast on Facebook and YouTube. Visitors on site can watch the broadcast on an LED screen in the starting area. The live moderation at the start will be done by Othmar Peer, who has been closely connected to cycling for years. Speaking of live: music, a good atmosphere and tasty food will be provided in the course of a supporting programme. And to make it easier for fans to cheer on their favourites along the route, there will be reduced prices for the ride on the Reitherkogel cable car on this day.
