"Building bridges" is the motto of the China Center established at the MCI - and in many ways: between Europe & China, science & business, research & teaching and alumni & employers. Against this background, the networking meeting between the delegation led by Ambassador LI Xiaosi and Tyrolean companies, organised by the Province of Tyrol, the Tyrolean Chamber of Commerce and the MCI, took place at MCI | The Entrepreneurial University®.
The networking meeting, which was a great success, focused on talks about intensifying cooperation between the Tyrol as a location for science, higher education and business with the Chinese delegation, whose interest in connection with the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing is primarily focused on the topics of technology, innovation & winter sports.
At the meeting, Chinese Ambassador LI Xiaosi praised the cooperation between the People's Republic of China and the province of Tyrol. "The partnership agreement just signed between the Chinese province of Hebei and Tyrol is intended to pave the way for an intensification of our economic, scientific and cultural relations and many friendly encounters. The exchange and cooperation between the two sides have great potential," Ambassador LI Xiaosi appreciates.
MCI Rector Andreas Altmann and MCI China Center Director Prof. Wei Manske-Wang add, "...that the establishment of the China Center at the Entrepreneurial University® is another building block to strengthen Tyrol's international competitiveness and promote opportunities for companies and young people alike."
Great enthusiasm is also shown by the Tyrolean Economic Regional Councillor Toni Mattle, National Councillor and Chairman of the Cable Car Association Franz Hörl and the Head of Foreign Trade of the Tyrolean Chamber of Commerce Gregor Leitner, who equally emphasise how important it is for Tyrolean companies to position themselves globally, to be actively present on foreign markets and to develop fields of strength together with the universities at the location. "China in particular, with a population of 1.4 billion people striving for quality of life and prosperity, offers excellent opportunities for cooperation," says Provincial Councillor Toni Mattle with conviction and invites Tyrolean companies to seize the opportunities arising from the partnership agreement.
