University Council at the MCI newly constituted

The newly elected MCI University Council began its term of office from 2019 to 2021 with its constituent meeting on 15 January 2019 at the Entrepreneurial University®. While the three councils (programme directors, research and teaching staff, students) had already held their elections at the end of November 2018, Franz Pegger was elected as director and Claudia Mössenlechner as deputy director on 24 January 2019. Both had already chaired the MCI University Council in the previous period: Franz Pegger has held the college chair since 2012, Claudia Mössenlechner took over as deputy chair in 2017.

Franz Pegger is a lawyer and business economist and has been a lecturer in numerous degree programmes and courses since the early days of the MCI. In his main profession, Franz Pegger is a lawyer and partner in a business law firm in Innsbruck; as a member and chairman of supervisory boards, he makes a significant contribution to the continued existence and further development of several Austrian companies. He also teaches at the Faculty of Business Administration and the Faculty of Law at the University of Innsbruck.

Claudia Mössenlechner has been associated with the MCI for many years with the highest level of commitment and is distinguished by her comprehensive competence in science, teaching and practice. She is a trained English scholar and head of the "Learning Solutions" department. Among other things, she has made a significant contribution to the establishment and further development of online study offerings at the MCI. Claudia Mössenlechner has sound experience in the development of curricula, didactic concepts and the evaluation of study programmes in the European Higher Education Area.

Franz Pegger is delighted to have been re-elected President of the MCI: "It is very important to me to work together with my colleagues to ensure and further develop the quality of academic education at the MCI. Deputy President Claudia Mössenlechner adds: "I am particularly pleased that we at the MCI can actively shape and promote our university internationally in an atmosphere of trust and mutual respect MCI Rector Andreas Altmann congratulates the newly elected College members: "I am delighted that both Franz Pegger and Claudia Mössenlechner stood for election again and were impressively confirmed. Both are distinguished not only by their excellent knowledge of the MCI, but overall by their well-founded competence in research, didactics and teaching and are particularly qualified to contribute to the further development of the MCI. Above all, I am pleased with how constructive, dynamic and results-oriented the election process was. I thank the outgoing College members for their great work and wish the new team good luck and success."

The main tasks of the MCI University College include the further development of efficient academic structures, the promotion of cross-university standards, processes and coordination, the perception of internal university authority and the continuous development of university quality assurance. The new Board consists - apart from the chair team - of five programme directors and seven representatives of the teaching and research staff, who are elected by the respective Boards of Trustees. In addition, four students will be elected to the MCI Board by the elected student representatives.
